"More info: If seller had posted pic of the US Govt ID tag at mid-lower dash, all would know this is a ex-military 5/4T 4x4 M880 or M882 .. They are basically a 3/4T W200 but with a W300 Dana rear axle. They have 3/4T springs, but there's a pair of load-limiter blocks that hit the frame to allow loads in excess of 3/4-ton. Details I can see in pics which make this an M880-series is the oval blackout-light-switch cutout in dash, no dash radio cutout, pintle bumper, blackout drive lamp cutout in grille, blackout marker lamps on grille, and the presence of what is the right size/shape of the typical metal USGovt vehicle ID tag at lower center of dash panel ahead of transfer case shift lever. If this is not originally a military vehicle, somebody went through a lot of trouble installing many ex-military interior/exterior body parts and axle from a M880-series, which I doubt happened" - Asked by #572610 04/01/2020 11:53 AM |

"More info: If seller had posted pic of the US Govt ID tag at mid-lower dash, all would know this is most-likely an ex-military 5/4T 4x4 M880 or M882 .. I bet it even has, or did have, two heavy two hooks under the front bumper bolted to bottom of the frame. If this is not originally a military vehicle, somebody went through a whole lot of trouble and a weeks' worth of work installing many ex-military interior/exterior body parts and axle from an M880-series, which I doubt happened. BTW< the 318ci engines in the M880-series came with 2bbls carbs. Some had Carter BBD's, others a Holley. No M880-series came with a 1bbl, however many 1977 USAF D200/W200's came with 225ci slant 6. Online VIN-generated data is not always 100% correct. " - Asked by #572610 04/01/2020 12:54 PM |
