DESCRIPTION

Dimensions:

Base is 14’6” x 14’-6”

Dome is 13’-0 DIA

Height: From platform to top of dome 8’-0” tall

 

Details:

Entire structure is ½ and ¾ decking clad in copper

The dome is fully functional: rotates and door slides open (some work is required to operate smoother.  A few boards will need to be reworked because they came loose.

Platform is 2X8 joist in fair condition.

A crane lifted the structure of the block wall foundation, it was transported on a flatbed to location, and Excavator lifted this off trailer.


This observatory dome is being sold as is where is.   Buyer is responsible for transporting the observatory dome within 30 business days of purchase.

Inspection of the dome is available by contacting the Facilities Department at 781-786-5270.

A: The zip code is 02493 (Weston, Massachusetts). The dome appears permanently attached to the base.

A: The dome weighs approximately 4,000 lbs. I will upload pictures of the inside. There will be a picture of the metal ring track and wheel assembly.

A: There is a curved channel with wood purlins, wood sheathing and clad in copper.

A: The diameter is 13 feet. The dome is permanently attached to a base but it is not a roof. Previously, the dome was connected to a cinderblock building approximately 14'6' by 14'6". Yes, the dome door opens. A track is attached to the outside with a pulley and rope system in the interior.
